Q:Who is the Fitniks® target customer?
A:Our customers are kids, of all shapes and sizes, from the ages of 6 to 12. Currently, census reports show more than 36 million kids are in the age bracket with future projections totaling 55.6 million by 2010, creating a significant addressable market.
Q:What are the qualifications Fitniks® is looking for in a franchisee?
A:We are looking for exceptional individuals that would like to generate a growing business while providing a much-needed service for the community. You should enjoy working with kids and be willing to accept the responsibility of having your own business.
Q:Do I need any previous franchise experience?
A:No. All you need is a passion for excellence, a desire to control your own destiny and a commitment to making the most of this timely opportunity.
Q:Do I need a fitness-related background?
A:No, you don’t need to have any prior experience in the fitness industry. We will provide you with all the comprehensive training you will need to successfully open and operate your Fitniks.
Q:What support will I receive?
A:A comprehensive Grand Opening and Local Club Marketing Manual, as well as your Operations Manual, provide professional assistance with every aspect of owning and operating a Fitniks, including site selection, site build-out and development, initial and ongoing training, tailored marketing and sales strategies and ongoing marketing and operating support. Also, each franchisee is supplied a computer loaded with the Fitniks Club management operating system.
Q:Can I own more than one Fitniks® Club?
A:Yes. Existing franchisees operating successfully and in good standing, who wish to open additional stores, are encouraged to do so, provided that the quality of each and every club remains undiminished.
Q:How much time is involved in owning and operating a Fitniks® Club?
A:Suggested operating hours are geared to local school schedules, so kids come when they have the free time; Monday through Friday, 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. This also means lower staffing requirements, typically 3.5 full-time employees. Space requirements are 1500 to 1800 square feet.
Q:Is Fitniks® a member of the International Franchise Association?
A:Yes. As an IFA member, we adhere to the IFA’s “Code of Principles and Standards of Conduct.” We hold ourselves to these highest standards of professional integrity. We also participate, for the benefit of ourselves and our franchisees, in the numerous educational programs and support resources made available to IFA members.
Q:What’s a "UFOC" and what can you tell me about this?
A:UFOC stands for "Uniform Franchise Offering Circular". This is the disclosure document that describes the Fitniks system in detail, including your rights and obligations if we were to enter into a franchise relationship. The UFOC contains, as exhibits, samples of the agreements that would be executed. It is set out in a form prescribed by applicable law and would be handed to you during our first face-to-face meeting. We would encourage you to review this document with your attorney or other business advisors. We will address any questions that you or your advisors may have regarding the Fitniks UFOC.
Q:What is the initial fee?
A:The franchise fee is $39.000. This fee funds our pre-opening support of your operation, including your initial training and on-site assistance.
Q:What is the term of the franchise agreement?
A:The initial term of your Fitniks® agreement is 5 years, with unlimited optional 5 year renewal terms.
