Fitertainment™
Proving that fitness can also be fun.
Rather than shun the modern technology that has so captivated newer generations of kids, Fitniks® embraces it. We actually incorporate video gaming technology and music into our facilities and fitness regimen. For example, kids can ride stationary bikes along a virtual course that unfolds on large screens before them. We call it Fitertainment™!
In the process, they're getting healthier and developing more than just their joystick fingers. You can’t stop progress.
Parents never need fear for the physical safety of their kids at a Fitniks. Each club utilizes state-of-the-art security measures, including biometric-based fingerprint access technology. Once inside a Fitniks, kids are always in good hands, as all physical activity is performed under the watchful eyes of our expertly trained "Coach Fitniks®". Plus all of our videos and music are Fitniks approved—meaning that they're void of violence and bad language.
Is strength training really good for a child?
According to the Mayo Clinic, "The answer is yes. Strength training exercises that are supervised, safe and age-appropriate offer many bonuses...The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association all support strength training for kids - if it’s done properly. Today's children are increasingly overweight and out of shape. Strength training can help put them on the path to better health and fitness."
At Fitniks we utilize top of the line strength training equipment with some of the newest technology in the fitness industry. We have created an environment where children get a great full body workout, learn about fitness and have fun doing it. That’s why we chose the Fitniks Four*! The Chest Press, Lat Pull, Leg Press and Overhead Press target all the major muscle groups while keeping the process simple. These pieces are built specifically for kids, with light weights and easily adjustable pieces, and are medically approved. The Mayo Clinic states, "Strength training for kids isn't about lifting the heaviest weights possible. Instead, the focus is on lighter weights and controlled movements, with special emphasis on proper technique and safety." For that reason, all of our strength training pieces have two pound weight increments, allowing the coaches to gradually and safely increase the resistance in each child's program.
